Nila Indigo Skin Ritual

Nila Indigo Skin Ritual

Ingredients

  • 1 small Nila indigo stone
  • 1 tsp plain yogurt
  • 0.5 tsp rose water (optional)
  • 0.5 tsp honey (optional)

Steps

  • Crush the stone in a clean non metal mortar and tap firmly or use the back of a wooden spoon until it becomes a very fine powder.

  • Mix your base: Add 1 tsp plain yogurt to a small ceramic or wooden bowl. If using, pour in 0.5 tsp rose water (optional) now. Stir gently until smooth.

  • Add the Nila: Add a small pinch of your crushed Nila powder to the bowl. A little goes a long way, start with less than you think you need. Mix well until the color is even throughout.

  • Add honey (optional): If your skin is dry or you want extra softness, stir in 0.5 tsp honey (optional). It also helps the mask sit on the skin without sliding.

  • Apply: Apply the mixture to clean skin using your fingertips or a soft brush. The texture should feel cool and smooth.

  • Leave it on: Relax and let the mask work.

  • Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with water using a cloth you don't mind staining, Nila is a natural dye and will leave a blue tint on fabric. Your skin will feel soft, bright, and deeply rested.

Notes

Patch test on your inner arm before first use. Keep crushed powder in a small ceramic or glass jar, never metal. Store your whole stones in a cool, dry place away from humidity. Use once a week for best results.
